3 Months Old

Our little girls are 3 months old already.  It is hard to believe.  They are getting bigger and stronger with each passing day, and it is hard to believe they were once so tiny.  They have started to smile and coo and they melt our hearts.  We love you so much sweet girls!

Holiday Recap

I am more than a little late in posting about our first holiday season as a family of four.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Grandma, Big Poppy (aka Grandpa), Uncle Mikey, Sissy, Nana and Grandaddy.  The girls were all dolled up in the their Christmas tutus and came ready to party.

The next morning we all exchanged gifts and the girls scored big giant stuffed monkeys and Bill Murray onesies (ha!) from Uncle Mikey.

These Cabbage Patch Kid dolls from Sissy.  Ironically these came with the same outfits the girls had on when they arrived.

And of course, mustang convertibles from Big Poppy.

The next morning Blair and I loaded up 3 suitcases, 2 car seats, 2 bassinets, a double stroller, twelve bottles and a partridge in a pear tree and made our way to the world's most beautiful beach house in Charleston South Carolina for a week of chaos and fun with GMa, GPops, all of the aunts, uncles and 8 grandkids.  Despite driving through a snow storm and then a tornado, and a stomach bug that left Blair out of commission for two days, we had a great time catching up with family and the girls were more than spoiled with even more wonderful gifts.  We even had a family picture day!  Ever tried to wrangle 8 kids into a family photo?  It goes a lot like this:

Lost Connor

Lost Bella
All kids (kinda) + Aunt Cristina
Who thinks Mariane is wishing she was old enough to drink?
I declared that our return would mark the start of Hoyt Baby Bootcamp and that these girls would start sleep training.  I was all ready to implement tough love, but a week with all the big kids wore them out so much, that they have slept almost 24 hours a day for the past 4 days.  I'm not complaining.

It was a complete whirlwind of a holiday season, but a wonderful whirlwind we won't soon forget.  We look forward to 2013 and seeing all the next year has in store.
